Relax, Your Reputation Is In Good Hands

Everyone needs to feel reassured that whatever product or service they are purchasing is going to be the best that their money can buy. After all, in today’s world, the quality factor beats out almost every other factor involved when making a buying decision. Believe it or not, the same goes for hiring a web reputation management company.

When you or your business’s reputation is on the line, there should be no excuse that causes you to work with a bottom of the barrel web reputation management company. Instead, you should make every attempt possible to hire a firm that is going to create the most positive action (removing and replacing bad search results with positive ones) within a resonable time frame. It happens each and every single day, to every type of person and company you can possibly think of. Our clients range from major political figures that have had the worst smear tactics possible levied against them, to small business owners that have had one pissed customer destroy their business credibility.  Lawyers, Doctors, Dentists, The Ultra Wealthy and the Regular Joe.  No one, and I mean NO ONE, is exempt from this wild west atmosphere we have online today.  What’s worse, is that most of this content these days is not consumer created, but competitor or revenge related.  Ex wives, angry employees, jealous competitors, maybe it’s just the guy that thinks you take his parking spot every day.

Employee revenge online

Solve problems before they happen ORMWe hear it all the time.  An ex-employee, out for blood, out for vengeance, turns to the comfort of their own home and their trusty laptop in order to draw blood from an employer, or ex-employer, that they hate.

The whole “wild, wild, west” attitude and atmosphere online gives them the comfort and the freedom to do things that they probably wouldn’t do if they knew someone was watching.  Fortunately for them, their anonymity is fairly secure in most cases.  So they can jump on RipoffReport.com or ComplaintsBoard.com or a million other consumer sites and say anything they want about anybody or any company they want, even if it’s completely unfounded and a complete lie. Personal Reputation Repair and Management

One of the first lessons that any salesman learns is that his product is only as good as his name. It doesn’t matter whether his product is books or boxes or cabbages or kings. And it doesn’t even matter how good the product is. You can have the best product in the world – but if you have a bad reputation, it changes everything.

The art of selling people is not selling the product. It’s selling yourself. In other words, it’s convincing your prospect that you are who you say you are. If you can convince them of it, they will buy from you. And even better, they will keep coming back to buy from you. If you have a solid reputation, you can create that kind of relationship. Everyone wins. Continue reading

Reputation Repair, Panda, and Google

The Google Panda UpdateWell, by now most of the tech world has heard of the Panda update and how it affected thousands of websites. Which of course included many reputation management companies, primarily because a large majority of them used blackhat or at the very least, gray hat SEO methods in order to displace negative content in the search result pages.

Which resulted in a backlash of angry clients and a whole slew of SEO and ORM (Online Reputation Management) companies scrambling for a solution.

What I found interesting though, is that it didn’t affect everyone the same way, and it certainly didn’t affect our clients or their campaigns. If anything, it actually helped a few of our clients, with some of their content ranking better than ever before. Continue reading
