How Easy is Online Slander?

If you found us here, you probably already know the answer to the question. Online slander and attacks on your reputation are so easy it’s absolutely scary.

It really is difficult to believe that one motivated person can cause so much havoc, but our clients come to us time and time again with almost the same situation. Someone is angry at them and has made them their project. Spending every spare minute making their life a living hell.

To the point where they file fake ripoff reports, go on review sites and forums and setup phony profiles, posting false service and product reviews. Repeat this process for a few evenings and you can pretty much count on that person’s reputation being done in. All the while, Google is not going to do anything about it. I actually read an article like this today in my news feeds and it brought me to today’s article topic. Because it’s not the first time I’ve heard this position, and I think this is a dangerous posture to take.

Especially if the content online happens to be negative. › Continue reading…

Online Reputation ManagementIt’s a fair question, and I’m sure that there are a ton of new clients, and a few of our competitors, that would love to know what search terms people use to find our website and ultimately our web reputation management services.

So I thought I’d put up a list of search terms users have used that have brought them to this site. The following keyword and key phrase list is not complete, and a few duplicate terms, as well as some that have our clients names in them, have been removed. This list includes searches done on all the most common search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, Ask, etc.

Here’s the list: › Continue reading…

When you think of reputation management and public relations, you probably think about big corporations and fortune 500 companies. Big budget firms that manage giant PR accounts for the heavyweight companies of the world. But should reputation management matter to small businesses and small business owners?

The answer is yes, now more than ever.

Because now more than ever, personal opinions matter. Not only do they matter, they have more power than ever before. One person now has the power to cost a company an awful lot of money, and sometimes even close it’s doors. I won’t go into specific case examples, but I can tell you that there is no shortage of stories where a disgruntled client, user, or employee has ruined a company online with a few well placed, negative reviews. › Continue reading…
